Now a days gaming industry is also doing well in India lots of players are into gaming there are more opportunities created by the government for them. a)      The current market structure of Indian gaming sector is Monopolistically competitive by nature because pubg has dominated all the games In large scale and it has the larger market share and it is dominating well in India . in India we can see that huge number of gamers are into pubg more than other games PUBG, from Tencent, has not only taken the lead in gaining the Indian gaming mindshare but is leading the way for the creation of amazing games for India over the next decade. The companies Tencent and  Activision Blizzard are the companies having larger market share . well this clearly states that Indian gaming industry is more of Monopolistically Competitive.

b)     Yes the selling cost of the gaming industry is on rise because they have to promote their games to a larger scale and market them. They invest huge amount of money for selling the games they give commission to agents and distributors such as Steam, play store , Appstore , Epic games etc . The gaming companies approach differently to promote their games .

Ø  They promote their  games on social media

Ø  They approach different youtubers to promote .

Ø  They approach gamers to promote their games .

Ø  They organise gaming contests and gaming events .

Ø  It follows the news that NBA 2K21 will be priced at $69.99 on the next consoles, $10 more expensive than it is on the current devices.

 

Ø  This is the report given by Digit.in they say that The price of the console games too has increased. This increase isn’t so dramatic when compared to the PC prices as console gamers were anyways paying Rs. 2,499 for games. They will now pay Rs. 3,499.

Ø  Modi emphasised that "India should tap the huge potential in this area, and lead the international digital gaming sector by developing games that are inspired from Indian culture and folk tales."

Ø  The Union Education Ministry is offering considerable support behind online gaming. This new focus is an attempt by the Ministry to generate employment opportunities in the digital field.

Ø  The Ministry also confirmed that they will be organising a national level hackathon for ‘online games’ to showcase the talents of Indian students from higher educational institutions. Indeed, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said that the segment has “huge potential in this area, and should lead the international digital gaming sector.”

Decision of government on fantasy gaming: On March 6, 2020, the Supreme Court of India passed an interim order in the case of State of Maharashtra v. Gurdeep Singh Sachar & Ors[4] and threw into uncertainty the fantasy sports sector in India.

Ø  The growth of fantasy sports has raised questions on its legitimacy and legality in India. The High Courts of Punjab & Haryana, Bombay and Rajasthan applied the tests laid down by the Supreme Court in the cases of Satyanarayana and Lakshmanan and declared fantasy sports to be games of ‘mere skill’ that do not amount to gambling
